Hello Sweet Girl

Here is a card I made for the current edition of Australian Cardmaking Stamping & papercraft magazine. It is for their feature on watercolouring and mine shows a watercoloured scenery. I think baby cards are my favourites to make :) This stamp set from Lawn Fawn caught my eye for these two particular bunnies. I just thought it was adorable to have them facing each other with the mummy one looking down on her little one. This would be a great mothers day card too, and you could add more bunnies as well! I used Tim Holtz inks for this background, and copic markers for the bunnies.
I think this will be my last post before Christmas, so I hope you all have a wonderful one, filled with lots of love, smiles and happy memories x

Stamps: hello Baby (Lawn Fawn)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento), Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn (Tim Holtz). Copic markers
Cardstock: Whisper White, Smokey Slate (Stampin Up)
Papers: Mildred (My Mind's Eye), Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper (Stampin Up), Watercolour paper (Tim Holtz)
Accessories: Stampin Up scallop edge punch, chevron ribbon & buttons. The Cat's Pajamas twine & Heart Trio die. Doily, Spellbinders circle die

Birthday Wishes

Gold again!!! I can't get enough of it! I wanted to use some of the gold vellum I had as the background for this card so I adhered it to some gold cardstock. I liked that I could use adhesive under the gold chevron lines and finally adhere a piece of vellum properly!!! This gold cardstock is amazing too. It's We Are memory Keepers metallic collection, and the gold is not bright, it's just perfect to use on a card you don't want to be TOO bright!

Stamps: Wonderful Words Birthday (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento)
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up), Gold (We Are Memory Keepers metallic collection)
Papers: Dorothy (My Mind's Eye), Chevron vellum (We Are Memory Keepers metallic collection)
Accessories: Spotlight lace, My Mind's Eye enamel dots, Papertrey Ink birthday die, Stampin Up button & white thread, Kaisercraft blossom

It Seems Only Fitting

I wanted to make a super girly birthday card using a pearl flourish. I have not used one in so many years. I feel they're a bit out dated. Yet I never seem to get rid of them when I go through my supplies making way for new stuff :) I think I originally bought so many because I wanted to do some scrapbooking and they were so in then! But I only had my son then, and pearls just didn't suit a page on him! Needless to say, I only ever made three pages. I thought after those that I better stick to cardmaking! Haha! I had my daughter last July so now I have a reason to keep them in my stash :)
Annnnnyway, I just used ink pads to create this background. I covered the stamp in the lightest pink first, and added some dibs and dabs of darker pinks and green over the top. And I just used paper from the Kaisercraft Be-YOU-tiful collection to do it on. I added the flourish, then coloured the image with copic markers and popped it up on some dimensionals with some chevron ribbon behind.

Stamps: Feminine Charm (Flourishes), Moroccan Background (Simon Says Stamp)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento). Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Pistachio Pudding (Stampin Up)
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up). Copic X-Press It
Papers: Be-YOU-tiful (Kaisercraft)
Accessories: Stampin Up chevron ribbon, and button. kaisercraft pearl flourish. Whimsey Farm twine.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Oooo isn't this image just adorable!!!! I love Penny Black hedgehogs. Christmas ones are my favourites :) I think this will be my last Christmas card I show for the year! I've made all my ordered ones, and I'm sending my own off next week! I can't believe I was so organised this time! This one I coloured with copic markers and hand cut it out. I adhered it to a piece of vellum before layering it on the doily. The papers I used are So This Is Christmas by Carta Bella. The blue in this collection is such a sweet colour and matches so well with the traditional reds and greens.

Stamps: Star Struck (Penny Black), Rustic Wreath (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (momento)
Cardstock: Copic X-Press It. Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Basic Grey, Vellum (Stampin Up)
Papers: So This Is Christmas (Carta Bella), Glimmer paper (Stampin Up)

Christmas Reindeer

When I had a request for a cute reindeer card, I found I had none in my stamp stash, so I bought this digi from Whimsie Doodles. I still love clear stamps, but I am definitely a digital stamp convert this year! I coloured this reindeer in with copic markers and hand cut it out. I added a little bit of dazzling diamonds to his nose. I hand cut a hill behind him in glitter paper, and used the Simon Says Stamp falling snow stencil with white embossing paste to create the snow.

Stamps: Little Reindeer (Whimsey Doodles digital), Keep It Simple Christmas (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento)
Cardstock: Copic X-Press It. Whisper White, Real red, Basic Black, Vellum (Stampin Up)

Christmas Shaker Card

I love all the Christmas shaker cards that I'm seeing this year. With sequins being so popular right now it's almost impossible not to make one! I have a couple in the works right now but have decided to share this one first. I used the Stitched Film Strip die from Pretty Pink Posh for the frame. I just love this die, and it provides a different look to the plain circle or square shaker cards. I used some very small crystal beads from my local discount store for the shaker elements. For the three pictures I used the Simon Says Stamp poinsettia Parade die using gold and dark red cardstock for the poinsettia, a bauble in glimmer paper and the trees and sentiment are from an older Impression Obesssion stamp set I always seem to use in some way each year! I'm sorry Paulina, the sequins are not Pretty Pink Posh :( My very first order I placed was just dies. But I'll be sure to grab some sequins in your Black Friday Sales!!! The striped red paper has a border using the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders 2 die.

Stamps: Christmas Mini's (Impression Obsession)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento), Copic markers
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up)
Papers: Santa's List (Teresa Collins), Silver glimmer paper (Stampin Up), Gold cardstock (my local discount store)
Accessories: Stitched Borders 2 and Stitched Film Strip dies (Pretty Pink Posh), Christmas ornaments die (My Favourite Things), Sequins (Spotlight), Shaker elements (my local discount store)

First Holy Communion

I was asked to do a first Holy Communion card for a friends daughter. She requested an image of a girl praying. I immediately thought of Di's Digi Stamps. She has the most adorable images for this sort of occaision. I coloured this girl with copic markers and added some dazzling diamonds to her veil. I toyed with the idea of the light green background, but I think it turned out very cute. I didn't have a communion sentiment stamp so I just typed "First Holy Communion" in a word doc and printed it out!

Stamps: Communion Prayer Girl (Di's Digi Stamps)
Ink:    -   , Copic markers
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up), Copic X-Press It
Papers: Memorable (My Mind's Eye)
Accessories: Stampin Up chevron ribbon & clear button, Doily, Spellbinders circle die

Christmas Notecards

I still can't believe how much I'm loving gold and silver. I thought it was just going to be a phase, but I'm totally hooked! I'm particularly loving Teresa Collins' Tinsel and Company line. I have used it here in the background circles for these very cute notecards. I think we have all heard now about the passing of Teresa's husband. I do not know her, but have been following her blog for a few years now. I have to commend her for being so open and honest with what has happened. Very few of us will experience a love like she had with him. I think about her and her family almost every day now and send my love and thoughts as I know everyone in the crafting world is doing.
Now these cards do look simply gorgeous in the flesh. I have such trouble photographing & editing gold, silver and shimmery pieces. On my Christmas wish list this year is a photography course!

Stamps: Festival Of Trees (Stampin Up)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento)
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up), Metallic gold and Silver (We Are Memory Keepers)

Wishing You A Speedy Recovery

My friend asked me for a speedy recover card on short notice. I was itching to use my Lawn Fawn On The Mend set anyway so it was perfect timing. I coloured the turtle with copic markers and wanted him to really stand out against the background so I chose this bright pink paper. Love it when cards come together so quickly. Very simple but very cute :)

Watercolouring

I am very new to water colouring. I'm a little frightened of it to be honest! I see videos of people doing it so effortlessly with stunning results and I am in awe. But I am forever wanting to learn and improve so I bought a good set of water colour paints, and this gorgeous stamp set from Altenew to give it a go. I think I did......ok. It'll definitely take a lot of practice but I really enjoyed doing it. I white embossed the flowers so the paint did not run, and used glimmer paper for the sentiment.

Stamps: Persian Motifs (Altenew)
Ink/Colouring: Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi 36 COLOR SET

I had a request from a friend to make some teacher appreciation cards for her sons teachers as she and her family are moving interstate next month :(
I had recently bought the Teachers Pet stamp set from Clearly Besotted and used it to create these adorable notecards. I coloured the pencil, cup and apples with copic markers and used paper from Studio Calico for the background.

Define Good

I love fun Christmas cards that have sentiments that are a little out of the ordinary. This Define Good sentiment is just perfect and sure to make the recipient smile. I always try to over colour things like presents, so for these ones I knew I would do them all green. I only used two copic markers for them. I coloured the bunny with copics too, and added some dazzling diamonds to hit Santa hat. I don't normally buy websters pages paper, but this christmas collection was too good to pass up. And the quality of the papers is excellent. The stars are the perfect Christmas backdrop :) Oh, and behind the bunny is a rectangle of dazzling diamonds glimmer paper. This photo does not look as good as the real thing!

Boo!

I'm from Australia, and although each year there is more and more Halloween stuff in the shops, I still don't think it's quite caught on here. We had our first trick or treaters last year and I wasn't prepared! I had to give them muesli bars (probably similar to a granola bar?)! Not very exciting for the kids! Haha. I have already bought some treats this year so I'll be ready this time! Regardless of our lack of Halloween experience here, I do always enjoy seeing all the Halloween cards and crafts you guys make over there in the US. When I saw Tiddly Inks had a unique Halloween challenge I decided to enter, and make my first ever Halloween card!!!! As you can imagine I was a little low on Halloween supplies, but I think it turned out ok? I love those monsters. I think they are adorable. I coloured them with copic markers, and added some silver dazzling diamonds to the balloon. I have no Halloween sentiments so just made a BOO with some die cut letters :)

Christmas Delivery

So many people are hard to buy for and gift cards are a great way to give them exactly what they want! I don't mind giving them, or receiving them. But if I do give one I like to package it nicely! I made this card holder using some Fancy Pants papers. I don't remember the name of the collection, I think it was from 2 Christmases ago! I just had these scraps lying around :)

I used a Spellbinders label die to create the pieces, and attached them with a brad. I die cut a label in the dotted paper and cut it in half and added adhesive to the edges to make the pocket. The adorable image is from Verve stamps and I coloured it with Copic markers.

Celebrating With You

The last time I used this stamp set I did the flowers in pink. I found it a little difficult to line them up perfectly, but it was a bit easier with the darker colours. I think I like them in blue more! This was such a simple card to put together. I'm still really into the gold trend, and I used some spotted gold vellum with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling card die to create a simple yet stunning backdrop for the flowers.

Stamps: Delightful Dahlia Additions (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento)
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up), Gold cardstock (We Are Memory Keepers metallic collection)

Thinking Of You

Hi there! This card I made was for a feature in Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine. It was from a set of 4, but this was my favourite one. I coloured this adorable image with copic markers and added some dazzling diamonds to the hearts. Behind the circle is a vellum scallop circle and I used an edge distressor on the crumb cake cardstock.

35th Wedding Anniversary

I got a request for a 35th wedding anniversary card from a friends mum. I wasn't sure where to start with it, so I googled what the gift was for that year of marriage. It was Jade. So I found some papers as close to jade as I could and went with that. I added some dazzling diamonds glimmer paper behind the light green paper and for the numbers to make it look very special. I used the stitched journaling card die with the stitched circle in the middle. I adhered that back in the middle just for a little different effect. Sorry but this is not entirely visible in the photo!

Tiny Dancer

I loooved the ballet card I made not long ago with this girl with black hair. A friend saw it and asked me to make the same one for her daughters 5th birthday but with blonde hair. I really had trouble getting the hair colour right, but ended up using more beige colours than yellow. I used one yellow marker to add highlights but that's it, and it turned out great I think. Because this friend of mine wanted the card in the same style, I followed the design of the black haried one, but made it more for a young girl by making it very pink and pretty :) There are some dazzling diamonds on her dress ruffle, not sure if you can see that well in the photo.

Stamps: Tiny Dancer (Tiddly Inks - digital), Simply Said (The Cat's Pajamas)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento)
Cardstock: Whisper White, Smokey Slate (Stampin Up), Copic X-Press It
Papers: Memorable (My Mind's Eye), Glimmer Paper (Stampin Up)

Oh Rats

I'm usually pretty good remembering birthdays, but I do forget the odd one and so I made a few belated birthday cards with the adorable belated birthday range of stamps from Taylored expressions, just to keep handy in case I do miss one! This is one of my favourites. I used papers from Teresa Collins'Family Stoies range. I love this collection, and it has a lot of colours and patterns in it I wouldn't normally use together but find myself loving every combination I try. Teresa is just amazing at putting the perfect collection together :) I coloured the rats and cake with copic markers, and added some dazzling diamonds to the cake icing. The banner is in sliver glimmer paper.

Stamps: Oh Rats (Taylored Expressions)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento), Copic Markers
Cardstock: Whisper White, Soft Sky, Basic Grey, Vellum (Stampin Up), Copic X-Press It

The Conductor

I have a few friends who have son's who love trains so I know I will need this card for one of their birthdays soon. I didn't quite have the right copic colours to match the papers I used but I think it still looks adorable. The image is from Tiddly Inks and I loved how it turned out. I am doing the online card class for copic markers with Kristina, Jennifer & Sandy soon so I'm hoping to improve my copic colouring. Still so much to learn! I left the top right of the card bare as I will put the age of the boy I give it to on there later when I decide who's going to get it! It will most likely be in silver glimmer paper as I almost always do.

Stamps: The Conductor (Tiddly Inks - digital)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento), Copic Markers
Cardstock: Whisper White, Smokey Slate (Stampin Up), Copic X-Press It

Wishful Pixie

I am so in love with Tiddly Inks! I feel like my favourite cards are always those with a Tiddly Inks image on them! This card is for their most recent challenge - #140 Pop Of Color. I wasn't sure how I'd go with this colour combo but I ended up loving it. I think my colours a little more pastel though. I used the adorable Wishiful Pixie and coloured her with copic markers. I added some dazzling diamonds to her party hat (which doesn't show up all that well in my photo!). I paired her with some gorgeous papers from My Mind's Eye's Mildred collection. Such a perfect match!

Stamps: Wishful Pixie - digital, Flying High (Tiddly Inks)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento)
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up), Copic X-Press It

Happy Birthday Ballerina

When I saw this image on my cardstock I couldn't start colouring it because I felt I wanted to do her with black hair, but I didn't have the copic markers to do it! So I set her aside and bought some. I'm so glad I waited, I think she looks great! I started this set by making the gift tag, but loved how it turned out that I decided to make a matching card too! This is a digital stamp from Tiddly Inks, so I was able to print her in two different sizes. The confetti dot paper I used as the background is from Webster's Pages' Recorded collection. The pinks and teal in it were my inspiration for the card. I hand cut her out and adhered her to a stitched vellum rectangle, and added some dazzling diamonds to her tutu.

Stamps: Tiny Dancer (Tiddly Inks - digital), Birthday Tags (Lawn fawn), Simply Said (The Cat's Pajamas)
Ink: Tuxedo Black, (Momento), Copic Markers
Cardstock: Whisper White, Rose Red, Teal (Stampin Up)
Papers: Recorded (Websters Pages), Vellum & Silver glimmer paper (Stampin Up)
Accessories: Stampin Up chevron ribbon & buttons, Whimsey farm twine, Packaging direct doily, Tag You're It & Stitched Journaling card dies (Lawn Fawn), Simon Says Stamp Happy die, dazzling diamonds

6 Quick Female Birthday Cards

Hi there! In this month's Simply Card's magazine, I have these 6 cards featured. The challenge was to create 6 quick female birthday cards using the Storyteller collection by Kaisercraft. I loooove this collection, and it was very easy to put together 6 co-ordinating cards with it! The card above was super quick to create. I used the Papertrey Ink cover plate die with some Soft Sky cardstock, and added a few layers with some of the die cuts that accompany the Storyteller collection. So easy with such a beautiful result. For the one on the right I stamped flowers from the Doodle Flowers stamp set in versamark and used white embossing powder. I hand cut them and arranged them down the left side of the card.

For this Happy Birthday card above I wanted a little bit of a different look for the background so I chose a soft striped pattern, but I then heat embossed a dot background stamp over it in clear embossing ink. It just looks so pretty in person. I added some of my favourite lace and a cute banner at the top. For the card on the right I used a Papertrey ink birthday die as the main focal point, but used some of those gorgeous die cuts from the collection in each corner. For a bit of extra pop I added a Prima flower on the bottom left and some white pearls on the flower die cut on the top right.
The card above is probably my favourite of the set. Only because I love the floral background paper! It was a bit bold for what I wanted so I added a piece of vellum behind the cupcake to tone it down. I love vellum and I do this often on my cards. In this case, it just makes the cupcake stand out a bit more. For the one on the right I used Taylored Expressions "It's Your Birthday" stamp and coloured it very lightly with a copic marker. I paper pieced the balloons with some of the peach coloured paper. I used a die cut frame, flower and border from the Storyteller collection to add some extra layers.

Stamps: Cupcake Collection (Papertrey Ink), Birthday Greetings, Polka Dot Greetings (My Favourite Things), It's Your Birthday (Taylored Expressions), Yummy Treats, Dot background (Hero Arts), Tiny Dot (Kaisercraft)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento), Copic markers
Cardstock: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Soft Sky (Stampin Up)
Papers: Storyteller (Kaisercraft), Vellum
Accessories: Storyteller die cuts (Kaisercraft), Prima flower, Papertrey Ink birthday die & Twist cover plate die, Stampin Up buttons and twine, Kaisercraft pearls, Spellbinders circle & scallop circle die, Taylored Expressions pennant die, Spotlight lace, White embossing powder, Heat gun, Thickers white chipboard letters

Happy Fathers Day

Father's Day is approaching and I have a had a few requests to make fishing cards. My dad is a keen fisherman too so I might just have to use one of these for him too!
I used the What A Catch stamp set from Flourishes to create both cards. This first one features the fishing hat which I coloured in with copic markers and hand cut out. I used papers from My Mind's Eye's Milo collection. I don't often like the look of yellow on cards, but this  yellow is the perfect tone and looks great with the kraft cardstock.

For the second card I kept with the kraft colour theme but used orange with it for a brighter look. I coloured the fish with copic markers, and added a bit of sparkle with the "happy" die cut in silver glimmer paper.

Stamps: What A Catch (Flourishes)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento)
Cardstock: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Night Of Navy (Stampin Up), Corrugated Kraft (Fancy Pants), Copic X-Press It
Papers: Milo (My Mind's Eye), Izzy (My Mind's Eye), Silver glimmer paper and vellum (Stampin Up)
Accessories: Spellbinders circle die, Stampin Up buttons, Crumb Cake marker pen and linen thread, Simon Says Stamp "happy" die, Lawn fawn tag die, My Mind's Eye button, edge distressor.

On Your Christening

When my friend asked me to make her a Christening card that was pink and cute, I struggled to come up with anything good with my cross stamps. So I bought this gorgeous digital stamp from Di's Digi Stamps. I coloured it with Copic markers, and added some dazzling diamonds to the window pane. The sweet papers are from Fancy Pant's Be Loved collection, which I almost didn't buy but I'm so glad I did! The stitched rectangle is from the Papertrey Ink Shakers & Sprinkles kit. I had it left over from a shaker card and it fit perfectly into this card. I didn't have quite the right sentiment to match this card, so I just typed Ön Your Christening" in a word doc and printed it out.

Stamps: Christening Day Girl (Di's Digi Stamps)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento), Copic markers
Cardstock: Whisper White, Smokey Slate & Vellum (Stampin Up, Copic X-Press It
Papers: Be Loved (Fancy Pants)
Accessories: My Mind's Eye enamel dots, Stampin Up grey button, Scallop border punch, Dazzling diamonds, Chevron ribbon & white twine, Spotlight white button, Packaging Direct doily, Papertrey Ink stitched rectangle

Cupcake Spinner Card

I loooove spinner cards. They always get such a great reaction at parties. I tend to play around with original tutorials to match the size of the card I like. I also like to add a few layers to my cards, and because spinner cards remain quite simple, the extra layers just add a little more colour to it. For this card I used papers from My Mind's Eye's Here Is Happy collection, and I added a some sparkle with a glimmer paper banner and number 4. I paper pieced the cupcake using Taylored Expressions Build A Treat stamp set.

Stamps: Build A Treat (Taylored Expressions), (The Cat's Pajamas Happy Birthday Sentiment)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento)
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up)
Papers: Here Is Happy (My Mind's Eye)
Accessories: Stampin Up buttons, Taylored Expressions Pennant Border die, Simon Says Stamp Simple Numbers die, Two 5 cent pieces (Australia), dimensional adhesive

Happy Birthday Hannah

It was my daughters 1st birthday on the 20th July, and this is the card I made for her. I have had this stamp from My Favourite Things for a while, but every time I tried using it on a birthday girls card it looked a little young, but I think it's perfect for a 1st birthday. Such a sweet looking mouse :) I coloured it with copic markers, and paper pieced the shirt. I used papers from My Mind's Eye's Cupid's Arrow collection, and added the happy die and number 1 in silver glimmer paper for a bit of sparkle.

Stamps: It's Your Birthday (My favourite Things), Simply said (The Cat's Pajamas)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento) Copic markers
Cardstock: Whisper White, Smokey Slate (Stampin Up), Copic X-Press It
Papers: Cupid's Arrow (My Mind's Eye), Glimmer paper (Stampin up)
Accessories: Fancy pants red button, Spotlight lace and white button, Stampin Up white twine, Happy die and Number die (Simon Says Stamp)

Thanks Dad

When gold started becoming the new trend, I bought up on all the new papers and accessories, and I must say, I haven't used much of them. I think I'm into the gold embellishments more so than the papers, but nevertheless I am starting to get through the papers finally too. I was asked to do a feature on simple masculine cards in last months Simply Cards (Australia) magazine, and it involved 6 cards. So to change up the looks I paired this gold paper with kraft cardstock. I used MFT stacking stars die to cut several stars from the paper, and also did the same with some black cardstock. I mixed and matched them on top of each other and adhered them in no particular order to the card. I used the Thanks Dad sentiment from Avery Elle on a hand cut banner.

Stamps: The Man (Avery Elle), Tiny Dot (Kaisercraft)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento), Crumb Cake (Stampin Up)
Cardstock: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Basic Black (Stampin Up)
Papers: Charmed Metallic Print (My Mind's Eye)
Accessories: Hemptique twine, Tim Holtz edge distressor, Spotlight buttons, MFT Stacking Stars die

Wishing You All The Cupcakes You Can Hold

I adore this image from My Favourite Things. I paired it with these gorgeous bright papers from Echo Park. Perfect for a 3 year olds birthday :) If you're new to my blog, you'll see I use a lot of these doilies in my backgrounds. They are nothing fancy, I get them from a local packaging warehouse and they're $3 for a pack of 250. And they're the perfect size for my cards. I love the doilies on offer from a lot of the paper companies out there, and I have some of those too in my stash in case I need other colours or sizes, but these ones are my most used :)

Stamps: Sprinkles On Top Jolinne (My Favourite Things)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento), Copic markers
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up), Copic X-Press It
Papers: Splendid Sunshine (Echo park)
Accessories: Simple Numbers die (Simon Says Stamp), Spellbinders circle and scallop circle dies, Doily, Stampin Up buttons, white twine, scallop edge punch and Crumb Cake marker pen

Best Dad Ever

I always find masculine cards tricky, but I am loving this set from Avery Elle called The Man. It has awesome sentiments that are a little different than the norm but soooo great on Father's Day card. This one I made can be used for any occaision though. I used some corrugated cardstock from my local newsagent for the background, and the very last of my papers from My Mind's Eye's Hattie collection - so old, but oh so perfect for masculine cards. I added some dazzling diamonds to the beer, which I don't think is too visible in the photo.

Stamps: The Man (Avery Elle)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento), More Mustard (Stampin Up)
Cardstock: Whisper White, Vellum (Stampin Up), Kraft Corrugate (My local newsagency)
Papers: hattie (My Mind's Eye)

Nautical 1st Birthday

My friends son turned one recently and she did a great job with his nautical themed birthday party. I decided to make a nautical card to match but wanted it in softer colours than the traditional red white and navy. I used papers from one of my favourite Teresa Collins collection - Family Stories and softened the anchor print with some vellum behind the white frame. The Chipboard anchor piece is from one of the layered stickers in the collection. I just ripped it off from the top of the sticker.

Stamps: Avery Elle - Knotty, (Sorry not sure where the Happy Birthday To You is from!)
Ink: Tuxedo Black - Momento
Cardstock: Stampin Up - Whisper White, Night Of Navy
Papers: Teresa Collins - Family Stories, Stampin Up - Glimmer paper
Accessories: Papertrey Ink Shakers & Sprinkles rectangle die, MFT Fishtail Flag die & Big Numbers die, Taylored Expressions Pennant Border die & Pinking Circles die, Spellbinders circle die, My Mind's Eye enamel dot, Stampin Up linen thread, Teresa Collins Family Stories buttons and layered stickers, Stampin Up Smokey Slate marker pen

It Seems Only Fitting

I haven't used this stamp set for a while, but when a friend of mine requested a card for her mum who loves shoes and fashion, it's the first one I thought of! I coloured the shoe with copic markers and added some dazzling diamonds to the yellow ruffles. I used the Taylored Expressions Instant Photo Frames die to cut a gold frame to go around it. This gold cardstock I used is from We Are Memory Keepers and it's not bright, I really love it. I have just ordered a whole heap more of it! I used the black banner and black chevron ribbon behind the image to make it really stand out. It was such a fun card to make!

Ruff Day

I am loving the new range of stamps and dies from Simon Says Stamp. This stamp set is so cute and has images perfect for 3 x 3 notecards. I made these three by using the Taylored Expressions scalloped notecard die and I added a piece of white cardstock on dimensionals on the cover. You can see on the heart I've added some dazzling diamonds glitter. There's also some on the bee's wings and dogs tummy.

Happy New Baby

I just love making baby cards. And this has got to be one of my favourites! The elephant stamp is from Hero Arts and I stamped it on some Teresa Collins paper 3 times (onece for the elephant, and two times for the ear and heart). I prefer to use aqua or like a pistachio green for my baby boy cards. I've tried baby blues and other colours but I find aqua works best for me. The gorgeous wreath behind the elephant is embossed in white embossing powder, and I did a zig zag stitch on the top and bottom of the white cardstock.

Stamps: New Baby (Hero Arts), Rustic Wreath (Papertrey Ink), Verve (To The Moon)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento)
Cardstock: Whisper white, Crumb Cake (Stampin Up)
Papers: Save The date (Teresa Collins)
Accessories: White embossing powder, heat gun, white ribbon, white twine, tag die aqua button and clear buttons - Stampin Up, Hemptique twine, Kaisercraft pearls

Shakers and Sprinkles

I'm a big fan of Papertrey Ink, and I'm completely in love with their Make It Market monthly kits. I bought the Shakers and Sprinkles kit a while back and made a few cards as testers in a similar style to the design team examples, as they were my first attempts at a shaker card. But then I decided to do one a little different with my own papers - from the gorgeous Teresa Collins collection, Daily Stories. My only mistake in this was that I didn't put quite enough sprinkles in but it still looks good when shaked.

Stamps: Shakers and Sprinkles (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento)
Cardstock: Whisper White, Crumb cake (Stampin Up)
Papers: Daily Stories (Teresa Collins)
Accessories: Shakers and Sprinkles dies and sprinkles (Papertrey ink), Kaisercraft resin flowers, Stampin Up button & white thread, Spotlight lace

You Are My Anchor

I love using papers behind cover plate dies, especially this chevron one from Papertrey Ink. I thought these papers from the Trend Setter collection from Fancy Pants were a perfect match for this adorable little anchor, that I coloured with copic markers. I wanted to keep the whole card neutral so it could be given to a male or female, so I kept it fairly simple.

Stamps: Knotty (Avery Elle)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento)
Cardstock: Whisper White, Pool Party, Real red (Stampin Up), Copic X-Press It
Papers: Trend Setter (Fancy Pants)
Accessories: Spellbinders circle and petite scallop circle dies, Papertrey Ink chevron cover plate die, The cat's Pajamas Heart trio die, Stampin Up button & Linen thread

Happy 2nd Birthday

I never get tired using the bunny stamps from The Cat's Pajamas. I love colouring them and they always look so cute on a card. I hand cut this bunny out and adhered her to a tag I cut with Lawn Fawn's birthday Tag die. I used papers from My Mind's Eye Memorable collection. I am also completely in love with this chevron ribbon from Stampin Up. I think I'm going to have to buy it in every colour, and several of the Smokey Slate colour! I never really use ribbons on my cards a lot. But adding a strip of it instead of doing a bow seems much neater and nicer to me :)

Stamps: A Girl & Her cake (The Cat's Pajams)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento), Copic markers
Cardstock: Whisper White, Smokey Slate (Stampin Up), Copic X-Press It
Papers: Memorable (My Mind's Eye), Silver glimmer paper (Stampin Up), Vellum
Accessories: Stampin Up chevron ribbon, Smokey Slate marker pen, white twine, dazzling diamonds & button, Spotlight button, Packaging direct doily, My Favourite Things Big Numbers die, My Mind's Eye enamel dots, Lawn Fawn Birthday tag die

Happy 40th

I have a sweet card and pillow box for you today. I made these for a feature in Australian cardmaking Stamping & Papercraft showcasing Heartfelt Creations Sun Kissed Fleur stamp set and dies. In this case I used only the die to create these layered flowers. The pillow box is from my local variety store and I dressed it up with a white doily at the top. On the card I used the MFT modern morroco background die and left all the pieces in. And I embossed the white bursts you can see either side of the sentiment.

Ink: Momento - Tuxedo Black
Cardstock: Stampin Up - Whisper White, Crumb Cake

This stamp set from Flourishes is one I think I'll keep forever. I just keep going back to it for masculine birthday cards and fathers day cards. I hand cut around the image.

Happy Mother's Day....and a birthday card

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers. This is my first mothers day with two children. My daughter was born in July last year, after a real battle to get her. She is a blessing. Her and my 4 year old son are such a gift and I love them both so much. They are such great kids, and so much fun to be around. I absolutely love being a mum and spending every day with them. It is my true calling in life. I was very spoiled today, and I hope you all were too!
I know I should be posting a mothers day card today, but I have a birthday card instead. This is using some Papertrey Ink products, and was very simple and quick to create. I stamped the flowers in Crisp Canteloupe ink them dabbed them in melon Mambo ink as well to create a two tone effect. I then stamped the flower borders in Melon Mambo ink. I used the birthday die, a Kaisercraft background stamp, and some sequins to finish it off. Later, after the photo, I added a vellum butterfly using a Martha Stewart punch to the top right of the card under those sequins.

Stamps: Garden Grace (Papertrey Ink), Tiny Dot (Kaisercraft)
Ink: Melon mambo, Crisp Canteloupe, Wild Wasabi, Mellow Moss (Stampin Up)
Cardstock: Whisper White, melon Mambo (Stampin Up)
Papers:   -
Accessories: Sequins (Spotlight), Garden Grace die 7 Text Block - Birthday die (Papertrey Ink), edge distressor
